General Information 016.jpg)
Kumeyaay Campground is part of more than 5,800 acres of chaparral, oak woodlands, mountains, and grasslands that make up Mission Trails Regional Park. Shoreline fishing in Kumeyaay Lake for bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and carp is permitted with a valid California Fishing License from sunrise to sunset. The park has over 40 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Bird watching is very popular at Mission Trails, particularly at the Lake.
This campground is well-designed for self-contained RVs and tent camping. Mission Trails Regional Park is family friendly, with numerous interpretive programs (many of which are free of charge) and an amphitheater for day and evening entertainment. Kumeyaay Lake Campground is the perfect place to stay to take advantage of the hiking, biking, horseback riding, and educational opportunities provided right here within the park.
Due to the proximity of Kumeyaay Lake and the San Diego River, we reserve the right to cancel reservations if deemed necessary for public safety due to mosquitoes.
Due to budget cuts we are not able to take reservations over the phone. For reservations please use the online reservation system at the top of this page.
Sites are also available first come, first served at the Entry Station. Office hours are 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
For questions, comments or problems with the website please call 619-668-2748. All campsite restrictions are subject to change without notice.
PLEASE NOTE:
No off site firewood allowed.
Due to the recent infestation of the Gold-Spotted Oak Borer in local Coastal Live Oaks, we no longer allow any cut oak firewood in Kumeyaay Lake Campground. The oak borer has already devastated the coastal Live Oak population in San Diego County.
You may purchase pre- inspected firewood at the campground entry booth for $5.00 per bundle.
