Join MTRP Trail Guide and resident Astronomer, George Varga, at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's Day Use Parking Lot, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. A telescope will be available to view the nighttime sky! In consideration of others, no lanterns or white-light flashlights are permitted near the telescope. * Note: Cancelled if raining or cloudy. This is the night of the New Moon consequently there will be a relatively dark sky except for city light pollution. Planet Jupiter is just to the West of the Meridian and close to the Beehive Cluster. Planet Venus is to the West over the Fortuna Range. Ursa Major is high up so it will be possible to view the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51), and Galaxies M81 and M82, light pollution permitting.
