Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's Day Use Parking Lot, from 7 to 10 p.m. A telescope will be available to view the nighttime sky! In consideration of others, no lanterns or white-light flashlights are permitted near the telescope. * Note: Cancelled if raining or cloudy.
The Moon is waxing towards Full Moon so it will be visible all evening. Planet Jupiter will be well positioned for viewing and one will be able to see some of its Moons. Ursa Major is high up so it will be possible to view the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51), and Galaxies M81 and M82, light pollution permitting.
