Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's Day Use Parking Lot, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. A telescope will be available to view the nighttime sky! In consideration of others, no lanterns or white-light flashlights are permitted near the telescope. * Note: Cancelled if raining or cloudy.
The Moon will be one day short of First Quarter phase. Mars and Saturn will be rising in the Southeast while Jupiter will be in the Western sky, setting. Double Star Alcor/Mizar in Ursa Major is well placed for viewing, as are Globular Cluster M13 (Hercules Cluster), and Globular Clusters M92, M5.
