Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's Day Use Parking Lot, from 5 to 8 p.m. A telescope will be available to view the nighttime sky! In consideration of others, no lanterns or white-light flashlights are permitted near the telescope. * Note: Cancelled if raining or cloudy.
The Moon will not rise until after the star party so it will not contribute to light pollution. Views of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and its companion M32 should be wonderful. Also up for viewing are the Pleiades (Seven Sisters), the Double Cluster in Perseus, and numerous Open Clusters scattered across the sky. Venus will be up, but setting, in the Southwestern sky.
