Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's Day Use Parking Lot, from 5 to 8 p.m. A telescope will be available to view the nighttime sky! In consideration of others, no lanterns or white-light flashlights are permitted near the telescope. * Note: Cancelled if raining or cloudy.
The Moon is past First Quarter and waxing. Up for viewing are the Pleiades (Seven Sisters), the Double Cluster in Perseus, the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and companion Galaxy (M32) high overhead, as well as the Orion Nebula (M42) in the Southeastern sky. Three Open Clusters in Auriga, M36, M37, M38, will be also visible.
