Guided Bird Walk - Lake Murray (Ball Fields)
8:00 AM - Saturday, December 16, 2017
2 hrs

Join MTRP birders Jeanne Raimond and Millie Basden for a guided bird walk along the scenic shore of Lake Murray.  Lake Murray in winter reliably provides an abundance of resident and migratory waterfowl, as well as sage/scrub species.  Tri-colored blackbirds, found year-round only in California, may be spotted.

Meet on the north side of the lake at Murray Park Dr. and Belle Glade Ave. and park in the dirt lot by the ball fields.

Bring binoculars and/or a field guide, if you have them.  Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring along water.  A hat and sunscreen are also recommended.  Walks are canceled if raining.

Upcoming Walks:

  • January 20 – Grasslands & Spring Canyon.  Meet at the East Fortuna Staging Area parking lot off Hwy. 52 and Mast Blvd. in Santee.
  • February 17 – Gate 9.  Meet in the dirt parking lot at the corner of Bushy Hill Dr. and Father Junípero Serra Trail.
  • March 17 – Lake Murray.  Meet on the north side of the lake by Murray Park Dr. and Belle Glade Ave. and park in the dirt lot by the ball fields.
