Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's Day Use Parking Lot, from 7 to 10 p.m. A telescope will be available to view the nighttime sky! In consideration of others, no lanterns or white-light flashlights are permitted near the telescope. * Note: Cancelled if raining or cloudy.
The Moon will be a thin, waxing Crescent in the Western sky. Saturn will be in the Southwestern sky and may be obscured by the Fortuna Range. The double star Albireo, one of the finest binaries in our Galaxy, will be well positioned for viewing as will some neat objects, like the Ring Nebula (M57) in Lyra, Globular Cluster M22 in Sagittarius, Globular Cluster M15 in Pegasus, and the Dumbbell Nebula (M27) in Vulpecula.
