Join MTRP Trail Guide and amateur astronomer, George Varga, at the far end of the Kumeyaay Lake Campground's Day Use Parking Lot, from 5 to 8 p.m. A telescope will be available to view the nighttime sky! In consideration of others, no lanterns or white-light flashlights are permitted near the telescope. * Note: Cancelled if raining or cloudy.
The Moon will not be visible as it is about two days from being a New Moon. Views of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and its companion M32 should be wonderful. Also up for viewing are the Pleiades (Seven Sisters), the Double Cluster in Perseus, and numerous Open Clusters scattered across the sky. Orion will be very low in the Eastern sky so viewing the Orion Nebula (M42) is possible.
