About the Artist: Ms. Ackley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree at Point Loma Nazarene University. Her work life included teaching, a principal ship, and work with educational technology firms. She has long been interested in local shore birds, especially the elegant pelicans and herons. Her paintings also present elements of landscapes, both representational and abstract, as well as pieces drawn from family photos that communicate universal themes about relationships and specific time-frames.Each genre represents a different way of approaching a topic, a different challenge, an opportunity to “Amend the Reality” of the world.
